WHOLE FODD PLANT-BASED DIET BASIC GUIDELINE

Whole-Food, Plant-Based, abbreviated as WFPB. This term was introduced by the renowned expert in nutrition and biochemistry, Dr. T. Colin Campbell, who is often referred to as the "Einstein of Nutrition." He is also the author of The China Study series. WFPB emphasizes a core approach centered on "whole foods and plant-based diet," aimed at promoting health, reducing the risk of chronic diseases, and being environmentally friendly. It is a dietary pattern based on extensive research and scientific evidence.

Its Core Principles:

  1. Avoid eating animal foods.

  2. Emphasize complete, minimally processed foods.

  3. Pay attention to plants, including vegetables, fruits, whole grains, beans, seeds, and nuts.

  4. Excludes refined foods such as added sugar, white flour, liquid oils and solid fats.

  5. With special attention to food quality, many supporters of Whole Foods plant-based diets promote locally sourced organic foods as much as possible.

Although WFPB overlaps to some extent with vegetarian (Vegetarian) or vegan (Vegan) diets, as well as plant-based diets, it places greater emphasis on the "whole food" aspect. It is grounded in objective scientific principles and avoids being influenced by religious beliefs, moral considerations, or subjective ideologies that typically define other dietary practices.
